Once, accompanying her boyfriend on a trip to a small town somewhere near the sea in Costa Rica, Marian meets a little girl who says she has run away from home. This encounter makes her, a micro-biologist (a word which the little girl does not even know), ask herself a question of why does she actually do what she does. Why is that important when there is that girl here on a coast sleeping alone in the grass. Marian loses the touch with the things, which used to be important for her, loses balance. Her condition resembles the fever of a little girl, who poisoned herself by making a sea snake bite her. She feels an intangible connection with the girl, who till that moment lived a life which never touched the life of her own.
